About Heartsong Retreat
Heartsong is an incredibly special place – evident by the fact that I bought it in 1993, sold it in 1997 and repurchased it in 2003!
After many years as a holistic pharmacist where my emphasis was on advising people on healthy life choices, I sold my business in central Auckland and moved to Waiheke Island and have not looked back.
I am genuinely committed to being as eco-friendly as possible, without denying guests the little luxuries they crave. The rooms are kept sparkling clean with eco-friendly cleaning products and eco-friendly toiletries are provided.
I support local suppliers, recycle, make compost and and aim to minimise our impact on the environment and am continually looking for ways to become greener. Our gardens are chemical free and our fruit and vegetables are grown organically.
I am passionate about health and wellbeing and I aim to provide a healing environment for those who require a retreat-like space to have some time out and can also offer health and diet consultations.
I am really happy to accommodate any special dietary needs- raw, vegan, gluten or dairy free, etc.
In the Winter months, I travel to South East Asia, where I volunteer and engage with the local communities. I sponsor different children and families in these countries helping them with education and housing and the profits from running my bed and breakfast enable me to do this.
So your staying here indirectly makes an impact on the lives of others and I sincerely thank you for that.
One of my passions is travelling and I love meeting new people from all over the world.
I share Heartsong with Sammie, a very cute 7 yr old border-collie cross and Oscar- Riley my long haired cat.
Everyone loves Sammie (he has even managed to convert a few non-dog lovers!). He is a bright and happy boy, very sociable and his passion is taking guests for a walk. He knows all the good walks around the area. Oscar Riley is a typical cat – sometimes he’s friendly , other times he just wants to sleep all day.
I love living on Waiheke – it is a fabulous community of like-minded people where sharing and caring for others seems to be the motto! I would love you to come to Waiheke Island and experience what Heartsong has to offer.
